My Great-Grandfather.

Served as a Sapper, Service No 1567, in the 1st Lon. Div. Royal Engineers during WW1, from 1914 to 26 December 1916 when he was discharged.
During this time he served abroad with the M.E.F (19-3-1915 to 13-3-1916) and the B.E.F (14-3-1916 to 1-10-1916), and was injured in service which lead to his discharge.

Mr William Cox of St. Patricks, Polegate, who died on Sunday, aged 66, was cremated at Eastbourne on Wednesday, the Rev. M. C. Chapman (vicar of Hailsham) officiating.
